For beginners it is strongly advised to avoid placing Black Obsidian near any sleeping areas and if possible avoid placing it in your bedroom all together. This is because for many Black Obsidian is a great crystal for dream work and often reflects our shadow selves to us which may be unsettling and/or triggering for some individuals.
